Plans!

Those who know me well know that organization, structure, and planning do not come easily to me. Fortunately, I have been blessed with a child who offsets those particular weaknesses very well! This morning, I went out to the living room to find Lily finishing up a List with her plans for the morning. This is what I read:

PRA
GETJREST
BRECFIST
BATH
MOSIC

She then proceeded to carry out her plan: Morning prayers, get dressed, eat breakfast, take a bath, and practice music. I was impressed.

Pretty impressive for a five year old...I love the sequence - get dressed, eat breakfast, then take a bath!

I love it! I'm always amazed by the talents my kids have that I don't. In particular, I'm always impressed by Kaia's assertiveness, a skill I'm trying to develop in greater quantities.

Baths are primarily recreational around here, with the incidental side-effect of contributing to the children's cleanliness...

Oh Paula, that is just adorable! Is Lily walking in her Mama's footsteps ( are you a planner and listmaker, too?) She spells about the same as Baby Girl (also age 5) does here. You have to keep that list among your keepsakes!

Wow! Just another example of how kids really are their own little person, huh? I can imagine Lily doing that.

Oh, that is wonderful. She'll be fun to watch as she gets older. :)
